Team line up vs Arsenal
This would be mine:

Adrian

O'brien Tomkins Ogbonna Cresswell

Kouyate Noble

Amalfitano Payet Zarate

Sakho

Are Reid / Obiang fit? I would like to see Oxford given a little game time too.

That looks like a side to me that will be in a relegation scrap.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
That's the best available IMO but we are missing players.

My concern is how we lack width and everything will be down the middle.

I think O'Brien and Ogbonna are injured.

Have to say that team doesn't look any better than the lot who struggled at the end of last season, hard times ahead methinks.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
Should just put out the youngsters & reserves & jack the game & save the legs & potential injuries for a more winnable game against a team at our level.

It's the WH way.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
Randolph
Knoyle Jenkinson Henry Page
Poyet Cullen
Lee Nolan Lanzini
Maiga

Should win this one easy. Rest the other 20 odd players for the development game in the week. That's priority.

If you define the last 5 months as being the end of the season then most certainly.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
Ive said on the Bilic thread that we are in danger of fucking this season up. Whe you look at a spine of a team you need it to have at least three good areas to not be worried about getting into trouble. Unfortunately we are short in most areas.

In goal - I think it is ok with Adrian and Randolph although i personally would.have bought a better keeper to go head to head with Adrian rather than an obviously inferior goalkeeper in Randolph.

Defence - we are sound in the middle but at full back im concerned we have not.good enough cover in O'Brien and Hendrie.

Midfield is a concern - the best players have gone in Song and Downing. The others aren't good enough and Obiang, Lanzini and Samuelson are complete unknowns.

Up front - Payet looks decent as a No. 10 but with no Carroll and Valencia we are looking terrible. You can only count on Sakho, the rest are not.good enough.

Against Arsenal -

Adrian
Shi Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Kouyate shit
Shit Payet shit
Sakho

Randolph
Tomkins
Shit
Shit
Shit
sakho
shit

Some of you really are pricks.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
It'd better be the strongest side available with no exceptions. I will be annoyed if any of the unused or barely used subs are players who would have been able to contribute something more than the side we sent out yesterday.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
That line up feels me with dread....any team still having to put out JOB & Almalfitano is going to struggle big time. Yet again we are to start a season half baked with I'd guess another 4 players to be added to 1st Team squad by transfer deadline day. Guess delay is due yet again to penny pinching on salaries and shopping for another teams dead wood/deemed surplus to their requirements ,outcasts (but at least cheaper). I get that in a way as we are by no means a wealthy club . But please Mr Chairmen how have we got to the start of the season with just one decent striker at our disposal, jank in the wide areas and no back up Right back ???

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
Team will be:

-----------------------Adrian

O'Brien---Tomkins---Ogbonna--Cresswell

---------Kouyate---Oxford---Noble

--------------------------Payet

----------------Sakho---------Zarate

Subs:
Collins
Poyet
Samuelson
Randolph
New Striker (if signed)/Maiga
Reid (if fit)/Amalfitano
Obiang (if fit)/Nolan

I'm not happy about how last night transpired, but do understand it. It's not just the 2 games in 4 days in a regular basis... it's the lost training through travel:

Sunday (game)
Monday (day off)
Tuesday (Train)
Wednesday (Travel)
Thursday (Game)
Friday (Travel)
Saturday (Light Training)
Sunday (Game)
Repeat

Not exactly what a manager new to the league needs who is trying to change the whole ethos of the way the team plays in his first season.

As I say...I don't like it, but understand it.

Re: Team line up vs Arsenal
Payet and Sahko should be as attacking as it gets.
That team will spend all day chasing shadows.
I think Oxford will start ahead of Zarate
